About CipSoft
CipSoft is an independent German developer and operator of online games. It develops and runs Tibia, one of the first MMORPGs, and operates The Settlers Online, which it took over from Ubisoft in 2025. It is also developing Persist Online, an MMORPG with a zombie setting, and offers its MultiPayer payment system to other game developers.
Revenue comes from the games themselves: Tibia is free-to-play, and CipSoft reported its highest revenue in company history for 2025, with over 28 million euros generated according to preliminary figures. The company's customers are players of its games, and the MultiPayer payment system is offered to other game developers.
CipSoft was founded in June 2001 by four founders, who remain shareholders, and is headquartered in Regensburg, Germany. The company has more than 100 employees and states it has been profitable since its foundation and independent of external investors. Its current job openings are in Regensburg, and its business language is German.
Product: Online games Tibia, The Settlers Online and Persist Online, plus the MultiPayer payment system for game developers.
