About Cenate

Cenate is a Norwegian company that develops and produces silicon-containing nano-composite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The materials are presented as a drop-in replacement for graphite, usable in both graphite-based and non-graphite anodes, and are claimed to increase battery energy density by up to 30%.

Its customers are battery cell manufacturers. The company collaborates with battery producers on EV batteries and with cell makers for portable and aviation electronics, including drone and humanoid applications. Materials undergo customer qualification before use.

Cenate was founded in 2015 and has its headquarters in Tomter, Norway. Its pilot plant at Holtskogen, near Oslo, has an annual capacity of 100 metric tons. The company is a spin-off from Dynatec and lists owners including Fred Olsen, Vianode and Nysnø. It is currently recruiting a product manager for a new cell line at Forskningsparken.

Product: Silicon-containing nano-composite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, supplied to cell manufacturers for qualification and use.
