About Cardiawave
Cardiawave develops Valvosoft, a non-invasive focused ultrasound therapy (NIUT) medical device for calcific aortic stenosis, a heart valve disease. The therapy softens the aortic valve rather than replacing it and requires no surgery.
The company makes medical devices for non-invasive therapies, targeting patients who are not eligible for surgical or transcatheter valve replacement and valves that need preparation before a TAVR. Valvosoft received CE marking in November 2025 and the company is preparing commercialisation; initial treatment centres have not yet been announced.
Cardiawave was founded in 2014 from a collaboration between the Physics for Medicine Paris and Langevin Institute academic laboratories and the Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris. It is headquartered in Levallois-Perret, France, and reports about 25 employees. Its clinical program treated 100 patients in four European countries, and it has held ISO 13485 certification since 2019. Funding has come from the EU Horizon 2020 SME Instrument and French government programmes. Current job openings include a production, integration and testing technician for its hardware and manufacturing team.
