About Cactos
Cactos designs, manufactures and operates battery energy storage systems that store energy for load shifting, peak shaving, backup power and electricity market participation. Its systems use repurposed Tesla batteries, and the control software is built in-house.
Customers include logistics centres, charge point operators, farms, factories, real estate investors and other commercial and public properties, as well as grid-scale projects. Systems are offered on a lease, usually for ten years, with maintenance included in the lease price; the company lists lease prices from 690 €/month plus an installation fee from 5,000 €.
Cactos was founded in 2021 by energy and software experts in Northern Ostrobothnia. Its headquarters are in Helsinki, and its R&D and manufacturing are based in Kempele. The company reports more than 300 installed energy storage systems, over 100 employees and a largest delivered system of 14.2 MWh. It announced a €12.5 million raise in June 2026 and entry into Sweden's ancillary service markets in August 2026.
Product: Leased battery energy storage systems with automated control software for load shifting, peak shaving, backup power and electricity market trading.
