About Biotika
Biotika a.s. is a Slovak biotechnology company that manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Its main products are penicillin and polymyxin B sulphate. It also offers contract manufacturing, transfers biotechnology processes from laboratory to commercial scale, and carries out research and development with academic institutions and contract partners.
Its customers are pharmaceutical companies producing human and veterinary medicines, as well as other contract partners; it also manufactures substances such as gramicidin S hydrochloride for partners. The company distributes its own active ingredients to several countries worldwide, and its quality system is built on EU GMP requirements overseen by the EMA and on FDA requirements.
The company traces its origins to 1953, when it began producing penicillin, and became a joint-stock company in 1992 through privatisation. Its headquarters is in Slovenská Ľupča. It is currently recruiting for production operators, a production technical coordinator, a fermentation technologist, a machinery maintenance technician and a measurement and control technician.
