About Biocaptiva
Biocaptiva develops msX™, a suite of patented polymers that capture cell-free DNA (cfDNA) directly from biological fluids such as plasma, whole blood, urine and pleural effusion, without additional binding reagents. The polymers can be coated onto beads, foams or solid surfaces. The msX-B™ whole blood cfDNA kit is designed for magnetic bead workflows and can be automated on particle mover or liquid handler platforms.
The company's customers are laboratories and developers working on liquid biopsy, cfDNA sequencing and personalised treatment. It offers the msX-B™ kit and polymer coatings tailored to specific applications and biological fluids. The polymers are produced under an ISO 13485 compliant quality management system.
Biocaptiva was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. It spun out of the University of Edinburgh in 2021. The company lists a board including a CEO, a non-executive chairman, an investor director and a CFO, and plans to exhibit at LSI Europe '26 in Barcelona from 28 September to 1 October 2026.
Product: msX™ cfDNA-capturing polymers, including the msX-B™ whole blood cfDNA extraction kit.
