About Avy
Avy designs, builds and operates long-range fixed-wing VTOL drones (the Aera), autonomous docking stations and remote operations software, combined into what it calls a drone network. Clients can buy the system and operate it themselves with training via the Avy Flight Academy, or contract Avy to fly missions on their behalf under its BVLOS LUC.
The company describes its customers as police, security, fire services, emergency response, ports, energy, defence and critical infrastructure operators. Its website names the Port of Rotterdam, the Dutch Royal Navy and the Dutch fire service among organisations it works with, and lists partnerships with several European police operators. Revenue comes from system sales and flight operation services; the input does not give pricing details.
Avy was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, where the company says it designs and flight-tests Aera and builds the dock. The website states it has 35+ people and is hiring in Amsterdam for roles including a Senior Software Engineer for flight control and drones, a Head of Commercial and a Regulatory & Compliance Manager, and it says it operates across Europe.
Product: Aera fixed-wing VTOL drone, autonomous docking station (drone-in-a-box), and remote operations software forming the Avy drone network.
