About Arbion Industries
Arbion Industries builds, owns and operates biocarbon production plants based on pyrolysis technology, converting sustainable biomass into biocarbon, a renewable alternative to fossil reduction agents in metallurgy. The process also yields bio-oil, bioenergy and biogenic CO2. The company was formerly named Vow Green Metals and changed its name in December 2025.
Its customers are industrial producers in the metallurgical sector and other hard-to-abate industries. Outokumpu received its first biocarbon deliveries in August 2026 at Tornio, Finland, and the full output of the large-scale Hønefoss facility is sold under supply agreements to Elkem and Outokumpu.
The company was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. Its projects include an early production line in operation at Hønefoss, a 20,000-ton large-scale facility at Hønefoss, and planned plants at Viken Park in Fredrikstad and Eiktyr in Orkland, with combined near-term capacity of more than 80,000 tons per year. It is backed by HitecVision, Vardar and Skagerak Energi and was awarded EUR 26.2 million from the EU Innovation Fund.
Product: Biocarbon produced by pyrolysis of biomass, with bio-oil, bioenergy and biogenic CO2 as co-products.
