About Xela Energy
Xela Energy is a UK independent power producer that funds, develops, builds, owns and operates private-wire renewable generation, from land acquisition through long-term operation. Systems combine solar PV, battery storage, wind or hybrid configurations, sized to each site's load profile.
Its main customers are data centre operators, with research facilities and industrial technology organisations also named as target users. Customers buy power under a Renewable Energy Service Agreement (RESA) at a fixed price, with no upfront capital cost. The company also offers landowners income from underutilised land through solar or wind development.
Xela Energy was founded in 2021 under the name Clean Energy Capital and is headquartered in London. It describes a team of more than 20 specialists and an in-house development team. Its funding partner is True Green Capital Management, a private equity renewable infrastructure fund manager. Its first project is at Hursley Park, connected directly to IBM's Hursley campus.
Product: Private-wire renewable generation (solar PV, battery storage, wind or hybrid) sold to large power users under RESA contracts.
