About Will & Must
Will & Must is a Helsinki-based developer of grid-scale battery storage (BESS), utility-scale solar PV and data-centre sites in Finland. It takes projects to ready-to-build by securing the site, handling permitting and locking in grid connection capacity. Battery storage projects are sited where the grid is strong and are designed to earn in Finland's reserve and wholesale markets.
The company works with international investors, developers and operators on individual projects, alongside a network of Finnish specialists that it commissions for surveys and technical design. It also works directly with landowners. In 2024 it published a cooperation with FRV on Finnish solar projects.
Founded in 2022, the company is headquartered in Helsinki and was co-founded by Matti Parpala, Anssi Voipio and Mikke Vepsäläinen. It reports a development portfolio of about 1.5 GW across partnered and own projects, with 15+ projects in development across three asset types. Its first data-centre project, Palvalahti in Petäjävesi, was announced in June 2026, and the Nivala BESS project was acquired by Foresight in October 2026.
