Well Id

Well ID is a Norwegian well logging company. Its flagship product is the 4D LWD borehole imaging tool, a radar-based 4D Caliper that measures borehole shape and micro-electrical images and can run in time-lapse mode. The company also operates the Fracview ultrasonic LWD imaging tool, the GeoEnlight handheld core scanner, and high-frequency drilling dynamics measurements. Its in-house DrillEnlight software analyses and visualises downhole data.

Customers are in the oil and gas, geothermal and mining industries. Well ID sells LWD and surface core scanning services, and its work for ConocoPhillips earned a Global Supplier Award for 2019. Development of the 4D Caliper has been supported by ConocoPhillips, Equinor, Aker BP, Innovation Norway and The Research Council of Norway, among others.

Well ID was founded in 2015 and has its office in Sandnes (Forus), Norway. It moved from primarily R&D to a fully commercial operation in 2020 and ran its first commercial offshore LWD job in 2018. The company has operated in Europe, North America and Australia and has strategic partnerships in the Middle East, South America and Africa.
