Walutomat.pl operates an online currency exchange platform where users exchange currencies by matching their offers with those of other users, with the system executing the trade automatically. It also offers a multi-currency card, a currency wallet, international transfers to around 70 countries, SEPA, SEPA Instant and SWIFT transfers, and eSIM data packages.

The service is aimed at people earning or travelling abroad, savers holding foreign currency, and businesses. It earns revenue from an exchange commission of 0.06% to 0.2% per transaction, as stated on the site, plus one-off fees for additional services such as international transfers.

The company is part of Currency One, is operated by Currency One SA based in Poznań, and has been on the market since 2009. It holds a payment institution licence from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) and has a team of more than 100 people.
