About vialytics

vialytics builds a road management system in which a camera-equipped vehicle photographs roads while driving, logs each image with GPS data and timestamps, and uses AI to detect pavement issues such as cracking, patches, potholes and surface wear. The AI also recognises assets such as signs, manholes, drains and road markings. Results are shown in a map-based web system used for planning and for creating work orders.

Its customers are municipalities and public works teams that manage road networks. The company states that more than 1,000 communities use its system and lists engineering firms among its partners.

vialytics was founded in Stuttgart, Germany, and its website dates the origin of the idea to 2017. It received a Series A investment of $10 million led by Scania Growth Capital, with existing investors EnBW New Ventures and Statkraft Ventures. The company entered the US market in 2023 and has an office in Paris. Its open roles include Account Executive (Atlanta), Customer Success Manager (South-East Bavaria), Chief of Staff to the CEO and a Computer Vision Intern.

Product: AI-based pavement condition assessment from vehicle-mounted image capture, with a map-based web system for planning and work orders.
