About Vertual

Vertual develops VERT, a virtual reality simulation system for radiation therapy training. Its modules cover treatment beam delivery, DICOM import of patient images and plans, dose visualisation, image-guided radiotherapy, patient models, a virtual proton treatment vault, QA and dosimetry, and simulated errors.

Customers are universities and teaching hospitals that train radiographers and physicists, and patient and staff education teams. Vertual sells VERT in several configurations, from mobile and self-contained units to installed treatment-room setups, together with software subscriptions; online or on-site training is included in several packages.

Vertual was founded in Hull in 2007 as a joint research project with the University of Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital Trust. Its headquarters are at The Dock tech campus in Hull. The company states that VERT is used in more than 30 countries and that it has more than 160 installs. Current openings are for an eLearning Content Developer and a Product Specialist Account Manager.
