Upstream provides the Grow platform, which runs multi-channel marketing campaigns (SMS, RCS, mobile web, push and in-app) to mobile subscribers, and Secure-D, a machine-learning module that screens transactions to block ad fraud and invalid traffic before they are billed.

Its customers are mobile operators and digital services providers. The company works with operators to turn existing subscriber bases into digital and value-added service revenue, and it offers a managed service in which its marketers run campaigns. The website lists a case study with Vivo and does not describe the pricing model.

The company was founded in 2001 in Athens, began working with mobile operators in 2006, and received an investment from Actis in 2014. In 2025 it joined the Intersel group. The website lists offices in Athens, London, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Lagos and Kuala Lumpur, and nine open roles, mainly in engineering (Java, DevOps, security) with commercial, marketing and finance openings.
