About UP Catalyst

UP Catalyst converts CO₂-rich flue gases into carbon nanotubes, carbon black and graphite using its molten-salt carbon capture and electrochemical transformation technology. It also produces lignin-derived hard carbon and provides CO₂ conversion assessments, lab testing, material analysis and reactor services.

Customers include companies evaluating CO₂ utilization and users of carbon materials in energy storage, paints and coatings, concrete and composites. The company sells materials and tailored research, testing and consulting services.

Founded in 2019, UP Catalyst is headquartered in Maardu, Estonia. It plans a commercial plant in Oulu, Finland, and has partnered with SGC Energy on production in South Korea. The company reports 34 team members and funding through grants, equity and an EIB loan.
