About uniturm.de
Uniturm.de is an online platform where students share study materials such as lecture notes, scripts, exam papers and study literature, which can be downloaded free of charge. Users earn points by uploading materials and rating others' documents. Each download costs 1,000 points and a rating returns them. Points can be exchanged for rewards sponsored by partner companies. The site also offers a magazine with study-organisation, financing and career-entry advice, a student job board, a study-choice test and an NC calculator.
The users are students at universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the site is free for them. Revenue comes from university marketing and advertising cooperations with companies, and from partners who sponsor the rewards. The website states that over 500,000 students use it and lists partner universities across the three countries.
The project began in 2004 as wiwi-leipzig.de in Leipzig, went nationwide in Germany in December 2007 and expanded to Austria and Switzerland in 2012. Uniturm.de is operated by Pharetis GmbH, which also runs TutorenClub.de, Unideal.de and studenten-girokonto.de.
Product: Online platform for uploading, downloading and rating lecture notes, scripts, exam papers and study literature, with a points and rewards system.
