About Unisers
UNISERS develops contamination analysis equipment for semiconductor manufacturing. UNISERS Explorer is an automated in-line 300 mm wafer review system for molecular particle characterization. UNISERS Inspector is a liquid defectivity system that gives a cleanliness score for liquids and chemical fingerprints to trace contamination sources.
The technology combines a vacuum-based plasma coating with optical microscopy and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, detecting particles down to 10 nm. Its customers are semiconductor manufacturers, and the company states that it develops its own products and owns the intellectual property for its solutions.
UNISERS AG was founded in 2019, and the underlying research began at ETH Zurich. Its office, workshop and clean room laboratory are in downtown Zürich, and team members are based in Portland, U.S. and Hsinchu, Taiwan. In February 2023 the company closed a CHF 12M seed round led by Intel Capital, with M Ventures, Swisscom Ventures and RSBG Ventures, and reports over CHF 20M raised in total.
