About ukcisa.org.uk

UKCISA is an independent UK charity and membership organisation that supports international students and the staff, institutions and student unions that work with them. It offers student advice on immigration rules, fees, employment and the wider student experience, and runs a free student advice line and newsletter.

Its main customers are institutions: about 400 members, including universities, further education colleges, schools and students' unions. Members receive access to a member-only online manual, a members' advice line, training courses, a forum and discussion groups. Membership is per institution, and staff at a member organisation can register for free. The organisation also runs advocacy work with UK governments and the #WeAreInternational student ambassador and grants programmes.

UKCISA was founded in 1968 as the UK Council for International Student Affairs, following the inaugural meeting of UKCOSA. The team has over 20 staff and freelancers. The organisation has an open role for a Head of Finance and Risk based in London.
