About Trimtech Therapeutics
Trimtech Therapeutics develops small-molecule degraders, branded TRIMTAC and TRIMGLUE, that target disease-causing protein aggregates for removal. The approach is based on TRIM21, a ubiquitin ligase expressed in most tissues, and is designed to clear aggregated proteins while preserving healthy native versions.
The pipeline focuses on Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's and other neurodegenerative and inflammatory disorders. The company is privately held and has raised seed financing, including a round in March 2025 and an additional round in 2026.
Trimtech was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Cambridge, UK. It is a spin-out from the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the UK Dementia Research Institute, with academic co-founders Dr. Leo James and Dr. William McEwan. Nicki Thompson, PhD, is CEO.
Product: TRIMTAC and TRIMGLUE small-molecule protein degraders for neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases, currently in pipeline development.
