About Trace Group

Trace Group is a UK software group that develops mission-critical systems in three business areas: Trace Isys (software for insurance and reinsurance brokers), Trace Financial (messaging solutions that help financial institutions communicate complex business information) and Trace Solutions (property management packages for agents, investors, occupiers, housing associations and block managers in the UK).

Its customers are insurance and reinsurance brokers, financial institutions and property management professionals. The group describes recurring revenue from long-term client relationships as the base of its finances; in the financial year 2023/24 turnover grew to £23.8m and operating profit to £5.30m, and annual recurring revenues covered 113% of total costs. It reports spending about 15% of annual salary costs on research and development.

The group was founded in late 1974 by Richard Wolfe and Colin Clarke and is headquartered in London. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange main market before a 2007 management buyout made it wholly owned and run by its employees.
