About tpos.co.uk
The Property Ombudsman (TPO) runs an independent, government-approved alternative dispute resolution scheme for complaints about letting agents, estate agents and other property professionals. Consumers first complain to the business, then raise the complaint with TPO, which reviews cases and can make compensatory awards. TPO is not a regulator and does not impose fines.
Its customers are consumers with complaints about property businesses and the property businesses registered with the scheme. TPO is a not-for-profit independent company with a unitary board of 8 non-executive directors. TPO Scotland is a separate legal entity that produces Scotland-specific Codes of Practice.
TPO has provided alternative dispute resolution since 1990. Its casework teams include initial enquiries, evaluation and resolution, and it is a full member of the Ombudsman Association.
Product: Free-to-consumers alternative dispute resolution service for complaints about property businesses, with case decisions and compensatory awards.
