About thomas-philipps.de

Thomas Philipps is a German discount retailer for home and garden goods. Its range covers more than 18,000 items across food, household goods, garden and furniture, electrical appliances, cleaning products, pet supplies and other categories, including private-label products that it commissions from manufacturers to its own specifications.

Its customers are households, who buy in its markets and its online shop. Most markets are run by independent market partners (Marktpartner) together with their own staff, while logistics and administration are handled by the company's employees at logistics centres in Niemegk, Halbe and Melle. Revenue comes from retail sales of these goods.

The company was founded in 1986 by Thomas Philipps, who began trading surplus goods with its first two markets in Geldern and Dinslaken. It describes itself as a family business now in its third generation, with over 260 markets in Germany, Lithuania and Austria and more than 100,000 customers a day. The company currently lists 40 open positions, mainly in warehouse logistics, technical trades, dispatch and administration, plus apprenticeships and dual-study places starting in 2027.

Product: Home and garden discount retail: food, household, garden, electrical, cleaning, pet and other goods sold in stores and an online shop, including private-label products.
