About The Nu Company

The Nu Company, trading as nucao, makes vegan organic chocolate bars, tablets and chocolate-coated fruit pieces. The products use Fairtrade-certified cocoa and paper packaging instead of plastic.

Consumers buy the products through German drugstore, organic and supermarket chains such as dm, Rossmann, Alnatura, Rewe and Edeka, and through the company's online shop, where it sells products by the bag or bar.

The company was founded in 2016 by three founders in Leipzig, where it is based. The brand was B Corp certified in 2022, a status it no longer held as of October 2025. Current job postings include field sales manager roles for food retail in several German regions, event promoters for trade fairs and events in German cities and Vienna, designer roles, and a marketing internship.
