Tapio Measurement Technologies

Tapio Measurement Technologies makes instruments, software and laboratory analysis services that measure product variation in paper, board, tissue, nonwovens, plastic film, battery separator films and metal foil. Its products include the Tapio RQP Live handheld roll hardness profiler, Tapio Analyzers laboratory instruments that measure basis weight, caliper, ash, gloss and transmission, and PapEye software for analysing scanned samples for print uniformity, line quality and dirt. The RollView PC software for RQP Live and the Tapio Analysis software are free and open source, while PapEye is licensed per PC.

Its customers are paper, board and film producers, converters and laboratories. The company sells instruments, software licences and a troubleshooting and quality comparison service on customers' MD and CD samples. It reports more than 100 customers and more than 500 systems delivered.

Tapio was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Espoo, Finland, where its product development and laboratory are located. It works with local sales and service partners in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. The company has provided a Tapio Analyzer to Aalto University for research on roll winding vibration and works with university and industry research groups.
