The company also offers a repair service, a programming service and seminars. Its customers include technicians who use the CMI web portal for remote maintenance, which the company says about 10,000 users use regularly.

The business started in the late 1980s as a workshop project of Ing. Kurt Fichtenbauer and has developed controllers since 1989. It is headquartered in Amaliendorf in northern Lower Austria and describes itself as an independent family business with around 70 employees, about a third of them in hardware and software development. The company states that its devices control systems in more than 40 countries and that over one million systems have been controlled by its products since 1989.
