About Stonbury
Stonbury delivers water asset management and infrastructure solutions across potable water, wastewater and the environment. Its work includes reservoir refurbishment and asset lifespan extension, sectional-steel storm tank installation, river restoration such as weir removal, and remote asset inspection and cleaning using ROVs and drones, the last added through its 2024 acquisition of Panton McLeod.
Customers are water companies, environmental organisations and local authorities. The company works largely through frameworks, having won its first framework in 1990, and reports 39 frameworks since 2020.
The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Bedford, United Kingdom. It is part of the Stonbury Group, which added Thompsons Group in October 2026. Stonbury received investment from LDC at the end of 2022. It recruits apprentices, trainee site operatives and early-career staff, including apprentice quantity surveyors and civil engineers.
