About Spiral Hydrogen
Spiral Hydrogen OÜ develops a centrifugal, bubble-free alkaline electrolyzer for hydrogen production. Gases escape through hydrophobic porous electrodes, rotation circulates the electrolyte, and a bipolar plateless stack removes the bipolar plates. The company states 95% efficiency (HHV), up to 3 A/cm², and a stack lifetime above 30 years.
The company is in pilot stage. It is finishing a 10 kW pilot in Rotterdam and Delft and plans a 100 kW pilot next. In March 2026 it started a pilot with SwitcH2 Offshore for its electrolyzer stack at the Port of Rotterdam. The site names oil refining, fertilizers, plastics and steel as major hydrogen uses.
Spiral Hydrogen was founded in 2024 and is registered in Tallinn, Estonia. Its Dutch office is in Rotterdam, and it works from YES!Delft. The company has filed patents on its bipolar plateless design and in-situ catalyst redeposition, and won the Prototron incubation programme in May 2025. It is hiring a senior mechanical engineer for production and manufacturing, operations generalists and generalist engineers.
