About Sphere

Sphere builds an energy trading platform for over-the-counter oil markets. It aggregates live prices from broker voice squawks and chat blasts, along with internal data feeds and broker and exchange prices, onto a single screen where users can trade on screen. The platform is also offered as an API. Markets covered are LPG, North American crude and LNG.

Customers include trading houses, oil majors, brokers and price reporting agencies, and the company states that more than 40 global firms use the platform. Prospective users can request a trial, which includes onboarding for IT and security teams and trader training.

Sphere was launched in 2019 by co-founders Ami Katschinski and Heather Balfour Ortega. The company's open roles include an Application Support Analyst in London and an Account Executive in Houston, Texas.
