About Sophies Minde Ortopedi

Sophies Minde Ortopedi develops, fits and produces orthopaedic aids, including arm and leg prostheses, orthoses, orthopaedic insoles and special and custom-made orthopaedic shoes. It also provides training in how to use the aids and follow-up of habilitation and training.

Patients come from across Norway and are referred by specialist doctors. Aids are supplied with support from NAV, the Norwegian labour and welfare administration. Orthopaedic engineers, orthopaedic technicians, physiotherapists and occupational therapists work together on individual treatment plans.

The company was founded in 2003 and has its head office at Bryn in Oslo, with orthopaedic workshops in Drammen. Since 2008 it has funded research and development in orthopaedic technology, with over 90 million kroner invested in 190 research projects. Open applications from orthopaedic engineers and orthopaedic technicians are welcome.
