About snowy.es
Snowy is a weather and environmental web platform for Spain. It combines multi-model forecasts, live data from more than 1800 weather stations (including the AEMET official network and an amateur station network), reservoir levels, earthquake monitoring from USGS and IGN, air quality and pollen data, and an AI assistant called MeteoAsistente. Snowy also offers Snowy Energy, a 72-hour generation forecast by power plant, and Snowy Developers, an HTTP and JSON API for stations, forecasts, earthquakes and reservoirs.
The platform is free for end users and is financed partly by sponsorship, with sponsor placements offered to brands. The site also states a business offering for energy producers and developers.
Snowy was launched on 27 December 2025 by La Rioja Meteo, a weather blog that began in 2012 as "El Tiempo a tiempo La Rioja". The team is based in La Rioja, Spain, and the founder is Jorge Carrera Díez. The site is published in Spanish.
