About Smart Automation
SMART Automation AS supplies integrated automation systems (SMART Chief II IAS), power management systems (SMART Chief III PMS), tank monitoring (SMART Chief TMS) and hybrid and fully electric propulsion systems (SMART Hydrive). Most deliveries are tailor-made from standard components and functions. Remote access is offered through SMART Link, which connects service engineers to a vessel's IAS from shore, and the SMART Chief GO mobile app delivers alarms and allows control of selected functions.

SMART Automation AS was registered in 2019 and is headquartered in Bremnes on Bømlo, an island on Norway's west coast. The company states a history dating back to 1978, when it was started as A/S Steinco, and that local investors took ownership in 2020. It says it has delivered products to over four thousand vessels. Open roles listed on its careers page include project engineers, a software development engineer and service technicians and engineers.
