About Smart Aero
Smart Aero, which trades as Belmont Aero, designs and builds ultra-light sport aircraft, currently the Belmont DW 200 classic and DW 210 RG. Customers choose the panel layout, avionics, paint, interior materials, and engine and propeller options for each aircraft. Every part is manufactured in house at the factory in Ogre.
The customers are pilots and aviation enthusiasts who order aircraft directly, through an online build configurator and demo flight requests. Belmont aircraft are reported to be flying in the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Romania, Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and France.
The company was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Ogre, about 30 km from Riga, where its factory is also located. Serial production began in 2019. Smart Aero has received Latvian export support from LIAA, including a project for a new e-commerce website under the Latvian Recovery Fund. It is recruiting an autoelectrician to work in Ogre.
Product: Belmont DW 200 classic and DW 210 RG ultra-light aircraft, customisable in design, avionics, engine and interior.
