About Simplifai Systems
Simplifai Systems Limited develops traffic management software that uses artificial intelligence to generate real-time traffic control strategies. The software currently changes traffic light timings across a city to meet a configured objective, such as relieving congestion, managing air pollution or evacuating a city. It works with existing sensors, controllers and traffic systems and is configured through software rather than new hardware.
The customers are traffic authorities and smart city operators, who install the software in their control centre and connect it to data sources and traffic control devices. The product also supplements the services of existing traffic management providers, including traffic modelling, supervision and control.
The company was formed in 2017 and is headquartered in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. Its work began with a 2014 conceptual design produced with the University of Huddersfield, followed by an Innovate UK prototype project with Transport for Greater Manchester in 2017. Founders and leaders named on the website include JD Blackwood (Founder), Keith McCabe (Chief Executive Officer) and Prof. Lee McCluskey (Chief Research Officer).
Product: AI-based traffic management software that controls traffic light timings across a city to meet configurable traffic objectives.
