About Sign Language Interactions
Sign Language Interactions provides communication support for Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people. Services include BSL/English interpreting, deafblind interpreting, electronic notetaking, lipspeaking, BSL translations and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). It is the preferred and sole provider of the Scottish Government's video relay service for public and third sector organisations.
Customers are public, private and voluntary sector organisations, including health boards and local authorities. Clients book interpreters and other language service professionals for individual appointments, block bookings or under service level agreements, and the company also offers a 24-hour service. Interpreters are registered with SASLI or NRCPD, hold PVG registration and carry professional indemnity insurance. The company also runs a regional communication support service for Health and Social Care Northern Ireland.
The company was founded in 2003 and is based in Glasgow. It is an accredited Living Wage Employer. It invites individual language service professionals and other organisations to work with it.
