Sharp Reflections

Sharp Reflections develops the Sharp Reflections software for prestack seismic data processing, quality control and interpretation. The software uses a clustered high-performance computing engine with in-memory processing to work on full prestack gathers. The company also licenses the PCube+ and CRAVA inversion technologies from the Norwegian Computing Center. Services include prestack QA and gather conditioning, data analysis projects, AVA interpretation workshops, prestack inversion studies, azimuthal seismic analysis, training and ongoing support.

Customers are oil and gas operators and their geophysical teams. Revenue comes from software licences and consulting services, with projects run on the company's own servers or in the cloud priced to cover software licensing and computing infrastructure.

The company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Stavanger, Norway. It began as EnVision AS and in 2010 formed the joint venture Sharp Reflections with Fraunhofer ITWM in Germany. Sharp Reflections is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Computer Modelling Group (CMG) and continues to operate independently as a CMG portfolio company.
