About Seah Wind

SeAH Wind Ltd is a UK group company of SeAH Steel Holdings Corporation that is building a monopile manufacturing facility on the South Bank, Teesworks site. Monopiles are steel tubular foundations driven into the seabed to support offshore wind turbines. The facility covers plate cutting and edge preparation, rolling, longitudinal and circumferential welding, and internal and external coating, with storage available on site.

The company supplies monopiles to offshore wind projects and has secured contracts for large offshore wind projects. Its first project for commercial production is the monopile supply for Ørsted's Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm. The in-house capability is stated as monopiles up to 15.5 m outside diameter, 120 m in length and 3,500 metric tons.

SeAH Wind was established in February 2021 and is headquartered in Middlesbrough. The main building of the facility is planned to span 40 m in height, 810 m in length and 200 m in width. The company runs an apprenticeship scheme with Hartlepool College, which began in September 2023, and holds ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications. It advertises vacancies and apprenticeships.
