About Schottel Nordic

SCHOTTEL Nordic AS is the Norwegian entity of the SCHOTTEL group, which develops and produces rudder propellers, azimuth and transverse thrusters, controllable pitch propellers and automation systems for ships and offshore applications. The group's range covers 50 to 30,000 kW across more than 9 product series. PropControl 4, a propulsion control system for azimuth thrusters, transverse thrusters and controllable pitch propellers, was presented in 2026.

Customers are ship and offshore vessel owners and shipyards, for vessel types including tugs, ferries, fishing vessels, cruise ships, cargo ships and yachts. Offerings cover new builds, retrofits, after-sales service and marine services over the vessel lifecycle.

The company was founded in 1929 and is based in Frogner, Norway. The wider group, founded in 1921, has 16 branches worldwide and develops and produces its systems in Spay am Rhein, Dörth and Wismar, Germany.
