About schmerzklinik.de
Schmerzklinik Kiel is a neurological-behavioural pain clinic that treats chronic pain, with a focus on migraine, headache, cluster headache, facial pain and nerve pain. Its approach is integrated multimodal pain therapy, combining inpatient and outpatient care across medical and psychological disciplines. A digital migraine and headache documentation app is also offered.
Patients come from across Germany and abroad, and about a quarter are from Schleswig-Holstein. Treatment is provided under contracts with statutory health insurers, including the Techniker Krankenkasse and AOK. The clinic also coordinates a nationwide network of regional pain therapists.
The clinic was founded in 1997 as a scientific model project at the University Clinic Kiel by Prof. Dr. Hartmut Göbel. It is located in Kiel and treats more than 1,500 patients a year. It is currently hiring nursing staff and neurology physicians.
