About Scanwai

Scanwai builds an AI-powered SaaS platform for infrastructure maintenance. An Android app on a smartphone mounted to a vehicle's windshield records road surfaces with GPS-tagged video and images. The platform detects cracks, potholes and raised manhole covers, produces damage heatmaps, forecasts deterioration and inventories traffic signs and roadside assets. Images are anonymised automatically.

Target customers are cities, governments, public services and infrastructure operators, including airports. The company describes its offering as a cloud-based SaaS platform.

Scanwai Oy was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Parkano, Finland. It also has an office in Bergamo, Italy, operated through ScanwAi Italia Srl. In 2025 the company announced a cooperation agreement for the Czech Republic and a partnership for Mexico, joined the D2XCEL scaling programme and was selected for the EIT Urban Mobility Growth Lab. Innovestor announced an investment in the company in December 2025.
