About SatVu
SatVu captures high-resolution mid-wave infrared thermal images and up to 60-second videos from its own satellites, at up to 3.5 m resolution, both by day and at night. Data is delivered as Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF files, stacked images, metadata and previews, accessed through the SatVu Platform web app, a RESTful API and a Python SDK.
The website names economic monitoring, climate resilience and national security as its sectors, with energy, commodities and infrastructure partners among the target users. A listed use case is OPO's nature data platform, which integrates SatVu thermal data for urban planning. The site offers tasking and a sales contact; pricing and revenue details are not stated.
The company was founded to bring commercially available high-frequency thermal imagery from space to market and received £1m from the UK Space Agency in 2021. Its first satellite, HotSat-1, launched in June 2023; the About page states HotSat-2 and HotSat-3 launched in 2026. The company is headquartered in London at County Hall, where it works in a hybrid model, and currently lists one open role, Talented Individuals (Hybrid, London). Its board includes representatives of Seraphim and Molten.
Product: Thermal imagery and short thermal video from a satellite constellation, delivered via a web platform, RESTful API and Python SDK.
