About SambaNova
SambaNova designs AI inference infrastructure built around its proprietary reconfigurable dataflow unit (RDU) chip. It designs the RDU accelerators, builds the racks and systems they run in (SambaRack SN40-16 and SN50), and develops the compiler and orchestration software (SambaStack, SambaOrchestrator). It also offers OpenAI-compatible APIs for AI inference and publishes per-million-token pricing for hosted open-weight models.
Customers include neocloud operators, enterprises, governments and data center operators that run the platform in their own data centers. The company sells its hardware platform and provides hosted model inference priced per token.
SambaNova was founded in 2017 and started operations in Palo Alto, California. Its co-founders include Stanford professors Kunle Olukotun and Christopher Ré, and Rodrigo Liang is co-founder and CEO. The company announced a first close of $1B financing at an $11B valuation in July 2026.
