About Salt Ship Design
Salt Ship Design is an independent ship design company. It provides contract design for purpose-built vessels, from conceptual and basic design through detail design with a 3D model of the complete vessel, plus tender support, site support and retrofit or upgrade packages. Its Pepper data and document management toolbox is used for vessel documentation over the life cycle.
Customers include shipowners, vessel operators and shipyards in offshore, fishery and aquaculture, and subsea and construction segments. Recent projects include live fish carriers for Pelican Aqua Holding, a CSOV Plus for Marco Polo Marine, and standardised vessels for the Royal Norwegian Navy designed with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The company is expanding into passenger ships, ferries, merchant vessels and naval vessels.
Salt was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Stord, with an office in Bergen. The website states that more than 60 Salt-designed vessels have been built since 2012 and that the team includes more than 130 naval architects and marine engineers. Staff also work from Poland and Serbia. The company is hiring a Project Manager, a Structural Lead and a Naval Architect & Design Manager for its Bergen and Stord offices.
Product: Contract ship design packages (concept, basic, detail design), tender support, retrofit and upgrade design, and the Pepper data management toolbox.
