About rewe-dortmund.de

REWE Dortmund SE & Co. KG is a joint venture of REWE DORTMUND Großhandel eG, which holds 80%, and the REWE Group, headquartered in Dortmund-Asseln. It runs food wholesale and supermarket operations, with a focus on regional products and short transport routes. The group includes a meat plant, a warehouse and a fresh-produce centre in Dortmund.

The company sells groceries to consumers through its supermarkets in North Rhine-Westphalia, mainly the Ruhr area, the Lower Rhine, and the Sauerland and Münsterland regions. Around 400 supermarkets are operated mainly by independent merchants, and the group also includes 103 markets of the Michael Brücken group and six akzenta supermarkets. Revenue comes from retail sales and wholesale supply.

The company traces its origins to the Krone purchasing cooperative, founded in Dortmund in 1913, and has been based in Dortmund-Asseln since 1961. It reports more than 20,500 employees, around 2,200 of them in wholesale, and about 1,000 apprentices. Its careers site lists retail, logistics and administrative roles across North Rhine-Westphalia.
