About restauratoren.de
Verband der Restauratoren (VDR) is a professional and specialist association of art and cultural heritage restorers in Germany. It is organised as a registered association under German civil law and represents the professional and specialist interests of about 3,000 restorers across all specialisations. It also acts as a point of contact for politics, science, teaching and the public on conservation and restoration.
The association offers its members advice, support, benefits and discounts, continuing education, seminars and workshops, and regional, specialist and interest groups. Membership requires a high academic qualification and/or long-term professional experience. The website also offers a nationwide register of qualified restorers, a job board, an events calendar, a free emergency guide for cultural property and fee recommendations for restoration work.
The VDR is a member of E.C.C.O., the European association of restorers' associations, and of the Bundesverband der Freien Berufe. It celebrates 25 years in 2026, with its 23rd members' assembly held at denkmal Leipzig 2026. Its publications include a specialist journal available as an open-access eJournal.
Product: Membership association services for restorers, including a restorer register, job board, events calendar, fee recommendations and emergency guidance for cultural property.
