Reneuron Group

ReNeuron is a biotechnology company developing exosome-based drug delivery systems. Its CustomEX platform produces exosomes from a catalogue of proprietary conditionally immortalised stem cell lines, with the aim of delivering RNA, protein and small-molecule therapeutics to specific tissues, including the central nervous system.

The company uses CustomEX for in-house research and development and for strategic partnerships. It has a collaboration with Laverock Therapeutics to develop in-vivo gene therapies. The company's history on its website starts in 1997, when Dr John Sinden established ReNeuron to work on stem cell science; the legal entity was incorporated in 2005. ReNeuron refocused its R&D on stem-cell derived exosomes in 2022 and established the CustomEX platform in 2023.

ReNeuron is headquartered in Weybridge, United Kingdom. Its earlier clinical programmes in stroke and retinitis pigmentosa were out-licensed to Fosun Pharma in 2019. The company went through administration and exited it as a going concern in March 2025, relaunching as a private company focused on its stem cell line development expertise. Iain Ross is Chairman and Dr Randolph Corteling is Managing Director and CSO.
