About Pixpolar
Pixpolar develops image sensor technology based on a patented MIG (Modified Internal Gate) pixel architecture, aimed at low-light image quality. The manufacturing process is compatible with existing CMOS processes, so the readout and digital logic circuitry can be built on the same chip as the MIG pixel matrix. The sensors combine visible and near-infrared light.
Its selected products focus on the 1/3-inch optical format, also usable in the 1/2.7-inch format, for security and surveillance cameras. The company states that its sensors can provide up to 2 times the maximum detection range of current security and surveillance sensors and reduce the number of cameras needed for the same identification capacity by 50%. Second-phase products are listed for scientific and space, aviation, automotive, maritime and commercial applications such as DSLR cameras.
