The business was founded in 1983 by Jussi Rantanen. Sanna Kulmala acquired the business in 2012 and introduced new flavours. The central kitchen is in Nousiainen, from which products are delivered to Turku and elsewhere in Varsinais-Suomi. The legal entity Pito-Jussi Oy was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Poikko.
