Pipistrel

Pipistrel designs, manufactures, sells and maintains light aircraft. Its range includes the Velis Electro, which the website describes as a type-certified electric-powered aircraft approved for Day VFR pilot training, as well as the Voyager trainer, the Alpha Trainer and the Explorer in the CS-LSA category. The company also states that it is an authorized distributor and service centre for 914, 912, 582, 503 and 447 engine series.

Customers include flight training organisations, pilots and aircraft operators. The website also describes engineering services offered to third parties, including conceptual design, aerodynamic analysis, structural analysis and aircraft systems design. Revenue is generated from aircraft sales, maintenance and these services.

Pipistrel was established in 1989 by Ivo Boscarol, who is listed as Founder and Chairman Emeritus, and its trademark was registered in 1987. The website states that Pipistrel is part of a group backed by Textron. Its main sites are in Ajdovščina and Vipava in Slovenia, and the Pipistrel Italia production facility in Gorizia, Italy. The careers page describes openings across R&D, engineering, certification, manufacturing and testing, but does not list specific positions.
