pets4homes.co.uk

Pets4Homes runs an online marketplace for buying, selling and rehoming pets in the UK, covering dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, birds, poultry, reptiles, fish and horses. Adverts are reviewed before they go live, and around 40% of submitted adverts are rejected. Sellers and buyers can verify their identity on the platform.

Customers are pet buyers and sellers, including responsible breeders, rescue centres and animal shelters. Buyers can pay for pets through the Pets4Homes Pet Payments service, powered by Stripe, which carries a refund guarantee. Sellers do not pay for this service, while buyers pay a small fee. The site also publishes pet care articles, breed profiles and rehoming checklists.

Pets4Homes was founded in 2005 and acquired by Pet Media Group in August 2019. It states that it is used by up to 7 million people monthly and helps rehome over 2,500 pets each day. The company has also acquired Breedera, an app that helps breeders manage their records.

Product: Classified listings for puppies, dogs, cats, horses and other pets, with ID verification, pet articles and the Pet Payments buyer guarantee.
